What does it mean "Two-and-six???
Not bad! Make it
two-and-six, my dear friend, positively for this occasion only. Half-a-crown is a delightful coin. Two-and-six.
Going at two-and-six! For the last time at two-and-six!'

Back in the 1960's Britain had a different system of currency.  And this term refers to old English coins.  Two shillings and six-pence was an amount of money (we had shillings and pennies, instead of pounds and pence).
