Dear John,

A friend of mine has introduced you to me and told me that you’d like to make friends with international young people by mail in order to broaden your horizons. I also happen to have the same interest. So I’m writing to you.

Allow me to introduce myself to you first. I studied in Shanghai University, majoring in telecommunications engineering. My favourite subject was computer programming. I acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in 2008. Since then, I’ve been working in CMCC as a telecommunications engineer, optimising its PLMN networks.

In my spare time, I have a lot of habits. I’m fond of playing chess and many other board games. Besides, I’m a big fan of classical music, especially operas. My favourite thing of all is studying English, so as to communicate with friends from all over the world.

I plan to travel to your city, Bangkok next winter during my holiday. Can I come over and visit you? What about we have beer together? Can you describe some places of interest to me?
