Being a professional athlete is arguably one of the most favorable ways to gain success. They can get a huge amount of money provided that they succeed in their career. This is probably why some people think it is somewhat unfair considering other types of professions could not achieve similar success regardless the amount of efforts they made. I agree with this opinion. It is true that it’s not always easy to be a sports-person. The general view has been that if you want to thrive in a sports career, you are required to do a lot of high-pressure trainings for years. Some athletes even gave up this kind occupation and left behind their commitment as the career is not going anywhere, let alone being successful. Therefore, it is believed that their success is fair and justified, as they worked hard to achieve this monetary success. However, other types of professions, if not more, are equally important than being an athletes. Thus, there should be an equal amount of appreciations for what they have done. For example, scientists and doctors perform their jobs for the well-being of other people. In particular, the success with their research in food and medicine might able to cure various incurable diseases. Yet, they are less likely to achieve similar financial success like athletes do, some cannot cant even fund the continuation of their projects because a lack of support, unlike various brand endorsements to professional athletes. To conclude, the existence of athletes is important to give relaxation entertainment and promote better feeling to those who watch and support them. However, other important professionals are less rewarded than being a sport professional, which I believe is rather imbalanced.
