My day was good but I wish thing would get better. This is not going the way I want. 今天我过的不错,但我希望能更好。因为事情没像我所期望的那样发展。 jin tian wo guo de bu cuo, dan wo xi wang neng geng hao. yin wei shi qing mei xiang wo suo qi wang de na yang fa zhan. Hi, Jeff, I guess all the answers above are possilbe. As a translator I always think "translation is recreation". The important thing is that the phrases could express your meaning and feeling exactly, to make clear what you mean.

My day was good but I wish thing would get better. This is not going the way I want. 我的生活现在很好但期望能够越来越好。这些并没由按照我的意愿发展。 wo de shenghuo xianzai henhao dan qiwang nenggou yuelaiyuehao .zhexie bingmeiyou anzhao wo de yiyuan fazhan. I think speaking and using Chinese is useful in your spare time。You can write this kind of small article everyday。I think you will speak Chinese normall one year later。

Maybe you should do some changes in the arrangement of different parts of a sentence, like the first sentence you can say like this: wo jintian hen hao, buguo wo xiwang(希望)mingtian/ta hui genghao. zhe bushi wo xiang yao de lu/fangshi(方式) As for the last sentence, " I want" should be put in front of the word"way" because in Chinese, the attribute usually comes before the noun. This's just my suggestion, hope you will make great progress~:)

em,看着像是查字典逐字翻译的,过于word for word了。你需要将你想要表达的内容用中文的思维方式表达出来。 it doesn't make sense if you simply put each english word in a sentence into chinese and then put them together.
