Hello Important and essential are quite similar and could be used interchangebly When it comes to the difference, important is straight forward as you would use it when you want to say that something is important or valuable however, with essential, it is more like vital or necessary I will give you an example You can say that something is important to you i.e. a car or present from someone special, but it is not essential or necessary...you can live without it but for example: It is important to eat healthy food to maintain our health, but it is essential to eat as it helps us to survive. Therefore eating in general is essential as we need it in order to keep our body going, but it is not essential to eat healthy, just important. Hope this helps ^^

Important is the same as важный and needs no explanation. Essential refers to an element without which something won't function: Yeast is an essential ingredient in bread. Although fish live in water, oxygen is an essential component in any fish tank. It is essential for a violinist to be disciplined and practice at least three hours a day. A good management team is essential to a successful business. Note that essential is also an adjective derived from "essence." The most common example I can think of is "essential oils" - oils made from the essence of rose, sandalwood, for example, and used as perfumes. As an adverb, essentially is used like basically: He essentially told me that I don't have a job here anymore. Hope this helps, Andrey!
