I think that really depends on what your native language is and how your native language differs from those two languages; for example, I'm a native English speaker and I find Spanish more easy to learn because it's somewhat similar to English (e.g. "no" in Spanish is "no", that's like one of the easiest things in Spanish), however, I haven't gotten much into Italian, but it might be easier for you to learn Italian, if you really want to find out, learn some words in each of the languages and find out which one seems easiest to you. I heard that "ciao" in Italian means both "hello" and "goodbye". In my opinion, I think Spanish would be easier to learn, but maybe that's just me.
