how do you translate my dear in Spanish? is it sound something weird to call my dear to a man from another man? when in Spanish it's mi querido o estimado no? that would be the translations? No se como traducirian my dear en espanol, porque yo aprendi que mi estimado pero no querido exactamente, aunque es parte de las diferentes traducciones en espanol, yo se que en espanol, puedo decir mi estimado o querido pero no es exactamente romantico, es Amistad.

My dear might be something you call someone you're in a romantic relationship with but it's not really used in everyday conversation. You would probably just call your male friends friend. If you wanted to sound more casual you might say hey man. Guys call each other man in a slang sounding way.

My dear = Mi querido

I agree a man wouldn't say to another man "my dear." My coworkers and I sometimes speak very casually with each other and several of us (not me and not a majority) have Spanish as the first language. We may say "my dear" to one another and we do not take it as condescending. That said, I would not address a client, patient or someone I didn't have a close relationship as "dear" or "my dear."

Native English speakers do not use a phrase like that. Men or women do not say dear to anyone, and in some situations it can be condescending. don't say : Thanks my dear" just say : Thanks
