Which section of a newspaper/magazine do you read first and why? Some people turn to the sports pages first, others like to read the newspaper/magazine from the first to the last page. What do you prefer?

I usually read what's on the headlines first because those are the nation's hottest topic. After going through ,next is the lifestyle section since i love fashion, arts and music so i spend a bit longer. After that i go to classified ads, taking note on some hotjobs ( to share to some of my friends seeking jobs). For me,reading a newspaper is like dining where to complete my meal i must eat a dessert. And that's the magazine..

I have as habit to start the newspaper upside down; on the last page. The last pages are also dedicated to news culture, which are the most interest me.

Unfortunately I don't have much time for newspapers; so, as soon as I get one and have time enough to very read it, I'm very curious about it all or most of it – it's always like a discovery, even though it's always so disappointing in gramatics. If I had newspapers more often, I think I'd read international news first, because of their importance, and after that some local news; then the main politics news (I mean I'd freely avoid all those arguments among politicians about one's sentence or comment...), and finally I'd focus on the culture section. As well, I can't have real magazines but some writer students' ones; if I could, they would be science and culture specialized, so I wouldn't have to choose the topics – they would be all intresting. The real problem here in Italy is that we don't have free leading newspapers – they all belong to parties, mainly to the Right party governing now, as well as the Presindent of the Government (Berlusconi - you probably heard of him for his stupid comment about Obama) owns all the national tv channels (yes! It's true! Even if most Italians don't seem to care...). So, would anyone be so kind to explain me how could any Italian get some "free" news unless he know some foreign language?

The first section I care for while I am reading the newspaper is International news then local news because I like to be updating with the events which happens all over the world and also because I love politics and I love to read about every thing related to politics.

It depends on the newspaper or magazine. Some magazines like OMNI and Compute! I read from cover to cover like a novel. On most newspapers I usually read the Front Page, Sports, Business, Technology, and Entertainment sections. When I don't have a lot of time, I don't even read the whole article; I usually read just the first and last couple paragraphs to get the gist and summary of the news story.
