The use of "plantear" in this sentence I am listening to a show about a spanish athlete facing problems with his knee. The interviewer says that they will speak about: "Cómo se plantea su carrera incluso su vida" I assume that this is referring to his knee. Maybe you would translate it "how it affected his career and life"? But what does "plantear" really mean and how would you use it in some sentences? :)

¡Hola! "Plantear" in this context means something like "the way he/she thinks about his career, and even his/her life". It is related to the personal point of view the person in relation to his current and future situation, and the way the person is facing them. In general, it means something like "consider" and "think about," but it can also mean "to present" and "lay out." Espero haberte ayudado.
