''rather like'' I have just read this expression in a sentence and I would like to understand its meaning. ''A butler having to cook is rather like a butler having to clean...'' What does ''rather like'' means in this case? Does it mean the same as ''like''?

Yes, it expresses the same thing as "like" but adds an element of contemplation or thoughtfulness to the phrase. It is a more story-telling or narrative style. It sounds nice but is not essential.
