You don't find it hard because you are Taiwanese and grew up reading traditional Chinese. Traditional Chinese is slightly more difficult to read and definitely slower and more tedious to write, but I myself prefer it. Most foreign learners learn simplified Chinese. For someone who has never seen traditional Chinese before, it can seem intimidating and very complex, but with a bit of time and effort you can get used to it very quickly. Obviously, it's best to be able to read in both systems, but it's unreasonable to expect people to be able to write in both systems. I think that people learning Chinese, regardless of what they choose to learn, is a good thing, so from that perspective this question is somewhat irreverent.

Traditional Chinese is of course more difficult than the simplified one in the way that there are more strokes for many characters. But on the other hand, each character in traditional Chinese is unique, unlike those in simplified Chinese. Consider 后 in simplified Chinese, which can be 后 or 後. The same applies to 只 and 隻 which are both written as 只 in simplified Chinese. That means you may get confused by some characters in simplified Chinese. Characters in traditional Chinese do not have this problem.

Traditional Chinese is not popular in China，especially in northern China，because Simplified Chinese is easy to spread。 My major is Chinese，so i need to study that，but for others，no need .so i suggest you learn Simplified Chinese，easy and funny。

I think if you are used to writing simplified, traditional characters will seem too complicated to switch over. Consider characters like 臺, 龜, 麗, etc. and then compare them with their simplified equivalents (台，龟，丽) However, I also think traditional characters retain a lot of the logic so, in a sense, I think they're even easier to recognize them than simplified characters.

It is hard because there are meaning behind each and every character. For example love in traditional chinese is 愛. The little '心’ in the middle represents heart. The word itself conveys a meaning. Whereas love in simplied chinese is 爱. There is no heart in it. There is no beauty in it. Learning the strokes are hard but once you know the meaning or the little different characters that made up of the final character itself, you'll be mesmerised in the beauty of traditional chinese. Sidenote: its easier to learn simplied chinese if you purely want to know chinese. But if you really want to understand chinese, I'd say go for traditional chinese hands down. And plus. You can always write simplified chinese when you know traditional chinese.:)
