Could you tell me the different meaning of “sneak up on”in the following sentences?I am confused. 1.Don’t let drink sneak up on you 2.Paranoia can sneak up on you, causing you to stumble at every turn(Deperate housewife) 3Every time we made plans, there's been too much pressure. So I figured, maybe things would be better if we sneak up on each other (Deperate housewife) 4-How dare you ambush my girlfriend at the gym! - I didn't mean for it to be an ambush. Just, it's kind of impossible not to sneak up on deaf people 5 Don't let time sneak up on you, enjoy every moment that you can. 6Don't let things sneak up on you. If you are only looking at today's calendar, you will be blindsided by upcoming calendar iterms. Look at today and down the road.

Hi Amy, 1, 2, 5 and 6 mean to be mindful so you are not in shock when the expected happens. 3 and 4 means to physically approach someone quietly and without them knowing, which makes them shocked as they do not expect your action to happen. I hope that helps.
