Hello Camille "emergency" is a word for a risky situation like (fire, floods, natural catastrophies, health etc... "urgency" is a word for something has to be done very quick. It is a necessity. An emergency is always urgent. BUT an urgency is not always an emergency.

'Urgency' is a noun referring to the state of something being 'urgent'. 'Urgent' is an adjective describing something that must be done soon. For example 'we need an urgent response'. An 'Emergency' is something that requires an urgent response for example a fire or accident. You could use both words together: 'They responded with urgency to the emergency'.
