9 Today we are used to X. During the last decade we got used to X. Tense, the main decider. Persuade Danial to copy his comment to an answer? "got" is used differently on different sides of the Atlantic. "Gotten" more so. Safest is to eliminate it completely. Today we are used to this. Over the recent years we have become used to this. :)

The answer to number 9 is the word "got" as you said. This is the answer because the key word in that sentence is "today." The word "today" at the beginning of the sentence signifies that we are talking about the present tense. Since we are talking about the present we would say "are used to." You cannot used the past tense "got used to" following the verb "to be." Just as an example, one would use the past tense "got used to" in these following sentences: "After the first few days of vacation, I got used to the summer heat of Florida." "We eventually got used to the loud noise of the train." "They got used to seeing each other every day." I hope that this helps you!

Got is wrong because it implies past tense but in that sentence, a present tense is needed because of (Today). “We got used to” means past tense while “we are used to” means present tense to justify the “today” in the sentence. I hope this helps
