Hello! Fake news is usually the news that is released to distract people from the truth; to create the incorrect impression of something and to attract readers and viewers. The opposite of fake news would be the truth, which could be called "authentic news" or "real news", as you said. You could also call it "factual news" or "reliable news/information/data". I hope that helps!

Lies, perhaps? If "fake news" is the truth, labelled as "fake news" as a diversionary tactic, then its opposite would be lies. Given that "fake news" really came into mass usage because of a president's desire to deflect attention from his (alleged) wrongdoings by "attacking the messenger": - trying to switch the focus of attention from the facts about what he did or didn't do and onto the person reporting the facts. This used to be called an "ad hominem" attack - when you are losing on the facts or the logic, attack the character of the other party. Our present incumbent has successfully, it seems, widened this tactic to encompass mounting an attack on pretty well any news outlet that doesn't give him unqualified praise and support. Allegedly :) https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/ad-hominem https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-42724320

Keep in mind that people who use the term “fake news” usually say it to draw attention away from the lies that they themselves are telling. So the opposite of fake news is fake news.

Of the two you've given I'd say real. However I agree with Zilan. News 'should' by definition be fact based, at least as far as the person giving the news knows. So real/authentic is redundant; it's just news/facts, rather than opinion.

There is not an opposite of it. I could suggest verified news maybe...
