whats the meaning of 'go o'er' in the following sentence? in blood stepped in so far that, should I wade no more, returning were as tedious as go o'er

It's a shortened form of "going over", condensed for the rhythm of the line. You'd see "over" written this way often in poetry. You'd pronounce "o'er" as a single syllable, sounding a bit like "errr" but with more O sound. Reading the line aloud, it sounds as if "go o'er" should be glossed into one melodious syllable?
