Helena (in A Midsummer Night's Dream) is saying that true love is able to ignore superficial beauty and appreciate the genuine value of a person. Cupid, being the agent of love, is therefore blind to appearance. Cupid is often portrayed in art as wearing a blindfold (i.e., "painted blind"). Her words are ironic and wishful, as she is lamenting Demetrius's infatuation with Hermia, and wishing his attentions were directed toward her instead.

yeah very nice question justice is blind too; and should be always be blind but not deaf, as love isn't that blind in real life , a lover could be a victime of illusions and deceptions. therefor toggeling to blind "mode" would be of a great interest sometimes just to hear the voice of Reason.. not that easy that it seems to be... thanks to Richard for his wonderful explanation thanks for correcting my mistakes
