I am a qualified teacher with over 13 years experience in the classroom as well as 3 years on italki. I am a mom of 4. I first traveled for 3 years and now live in a double decker bus on a farm in the Cape in a community setup. I love traveling and meeting new people and hearing about life through their different perspectives. My hobbies include watching movies and series, doing arts and crafts of all kinds, hiking in different scenes of nature and traveling. I have a bachelor of arts degree majoring in psychology and I find people fascinating. I also have a post graduate certificate in teaching, specializing in foundation phase (ages 4 to 13). As a teacher I am patient, friendly, flexible and cheerful. I am open about all aspects of life&like sharing personal experiences as well as things about my country&culture. I like to form good relationships with my students&ensure people feel comfortable around me. My strongest trait is that I can adapt to my students' personal needs&goals. If I do not know something, I am diligent at
researching it&I apply this in my classroom. I prefer teaching grammar and sentence construction in natural flow of conversation - if you make a mistake, I will repeat what you said in the correct way. I may be 2 minutes late to the lesson to accommodate back2back lessons, but take no breaks in the lesson.Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I adapt my lessons to my students' needs. We can either practice conversational English by having a chat or we can have more constructed lessons where we will follow a theme and practice reading and writing skills about different themes every time. I like to add some activities into each lesson to practice basic language skills. For business language I research the field you work in&have practice activities on anything from interviews to small talk with clients. For children, I adapt lesson to their specific interests ranging all the way from super powers to world war 2 facts... You name it, I will try to make a plan :) I can also help prepare you for tests, exams, debates or revision.Mein Unterrichtsmaterial
