I am from England and I have been teaching English for more than 10 years. I studied English language and Linguistics at university, as well as philosophy. Language is one of my passions: I am interested in learning, teaching, vocabulary, grammar, etymology, history, accents, dialects and more.
I taught English for more than ten years at a language school in Turkey, and I have been teaching online for more than 5 years.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I am flexible to the needs of students. I can teach you General English, Business English, and Academic English, as well as other varieties. I have a lot of experience of teaching language courses from A1 to C2, including all the skills of reading, writing, grammar, and speaking. I have taught many Business English students, helping them with vocabulary, job-specific communication, presentations, as well as interview preparation. I have many academic students at various stages in their career, from undergraduate to almost retired, who need help and practise with presentations, English speaking, and so on.
Feel free to ask me about lesson times that are not on my schedule.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
As mentioned above, I am flexible to the needs of students. Most of my students prefer to prioritize speaking in class, as lesson time is valuable. To give a few examples of lesson strategies to improve speaking: some students do grammar and vocabulary homework, and in the class I make them speak using that grammar or vocabulary. This helps with activating the knowledge revised or gained in the homework activities. Another option is articles: a student reads an article for homework and then explains it to me in class. This practises reading and speaking about complex or unfamiliar topics. The articles could be general or job/field-specific.
