Hello everybody ! Thank you for visiting my Italki page. My name is Spencer and I am a qualified English teacher. I am English and I currently live in the English countryside where I spend my days walking, eating, and reading in the fields...and of course, getting very wet in the rain (it is England after all!). I love literature, film, and television, and enjoy very much talking about these topics. I am naturally curious, and my interests run into the sciences, history, and many other things besides. I have taught at university, high school, and secondary school, and have a teaching qualification in English. Come and join me for a comfortable and relaxed first English lesson.

My top priority as a teacher is to make sure that my students feel comfortable enough to ask questions and request personal preferences ! Over the years, I have seen many students feel as if they can't ask for what they want from a tutor. Well, I am here to say, you are paying for this service, so tell me what and how you want to learn ! If you want me to make a learning plan for you - no problem. If you want us to act out a very specific part of a Shakespeare play so that you can master pronunciation - I've got you covered ! I have many years experience as a teacher so I am very adaptable.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

My teaching style is warm, friendly, and focused on attaining your goals. We would start with an introductory lesson so that we could discuss your aims, and then tailor the subsequent lessons to fit your needs and goals. If you want relaxed conversation practice - I am all ears (as we say in English) ! If you want more focused, textbook style lessons - I am ready to help you. Having completed a PhD in English, I can help extensively with written English, and having taught many students, I am very comfortable having long conversations about a range of topics.
