Hej! I'm Carolina and I was born and raised outside of Göteborg, Sweden. My passion for dance and teaching brought me to New York City where I have now lived for 10+ years. I love teaching and my teaching has grown from teaching dance to yoga for all ages, teaching at preschools and of course teaching Swedish! I'm looking forward to create a learning experience together that will be fun and give you the skills you wish to achieve.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I'm an upbeat, creative teacher who wants your experience learning Swedish to be joyful and not feel like a chore. All learning is "a practice not a perfect" and I want you to feel comfortable to try and make mistakes. In my years of teaching children I have learned to be flexible and allowing the lesson to follow a natural flow rather than sticking to something that doesn't benefit my students.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

I will create lessons that fits your interests and needs and use the material that helps you the best. Everyone learns differently and I take that into account when planning your lessons. I believe in "learning by doing" so my lessons entails practicing what you're learning through easygoing conversations. If it's of interest to you I can provide homework and material to use between sessions. I love teaching all ages and here on Italki I will also offer Swedish for Kids.

Carolina is an absolutely wonderful teacher who works with her students to meet their needs. I came into Swedish already knowing Norwegian, which meant that I was both an advanced student and a beginning student because I could understand almost everything that was being said to me and a lot of written Swedish, but I couldn't say or write anything. Carolina worked with me to find resources and explain Swedish fundamentals without forcing me to go through the absolute basics. I was able to grow into a decent Swedish speaker (although one who clearly speaks Norwegian) with her help and cannot wait to sign up for more classes.
