I think learning a language is like planting a fruit tree and the greatest joy is when we eat the fruit and enjoy it, yes you guessed it right...
The fruit of this tree is talking and communicating with others, so my method is to emphasize talking with my students and I always encourage them to say words out loud without fear from the first session and the result has always been positive.
Of course, I improve all my skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and use files, PDFs, books, audio files, movies, music, etc.
