My name is Raquel and I'm 40 years old. I'm from Spain although I've lived in other countries from a very young age. I have two sons who are working and studying away from home. Other than teaching, I love reading, listening to music, going to the theatre and museums, travelling, both spending time with my friends and meeting new people and sunny weather.

Ich als Lehrkraft

Teaching is definitely my passion and I considered myself very lucky to have a job that I love. I used to work in Tourism until I moved to the States and realised there was something about teaching and learning that appealed to me very deeply. And to this day, I can't be happier to spend my working hours helping others achieve their goals. I make it my mission to create an environment that is equally professional and safe for my students so they feel confident to practice and learn without worrying about the mistakes that come with the process.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

As many teachers, I started teaching in a classroom that has become a screen due to the pandemic and although different, I have become to love it. In my lessons, I use videos, interactive worksheets, presentations, books, games... but what really makes a difference is adapting to the preferences of the students. To do so, I pay attention to their reactions to make the lessons more engaging, which makes internalising new concepts easier. We tend to remember better what's familiar.
