My name is Dora. I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, and lived there my entire life. I moved to Chicago, Illinois, three years ago with my family. I am an educated native Hungarian speaker with a broad knowledge of Hungarian culture, history, cuisine, and literature. Additionally, I speak English (C1) and a little German. I believe that the three main pillars of a good and productive Hungarian conversation class are: Vocabulary, Grammar, and Pronunciation - so this is where my focus lies. I am a relaxed and easygoing person with a maximalist approach to myself, so you can expect enjoyable, engaging, and humorous conversations that solely focus on improving your Hungarian speaking abilities. I offer conversation practice in the form of 45-minute or 1-hour classes for advanced and intermediate speakers. You can choose the topic or share your area of interest with me. My main focus is to enhance your Hungarian speaking abilities and address any questions you may have about the usage of the Hungarian language. We can read together, write short texts, or translate poems—whatever your preference.
I am also happy to assist beginners. In this case, we will use teaching materials such as language books, dictionaries, short stories, poems, and songs.5.0

What a great session! I loved having Dora as a tutor - she's so kind, smart, and helpful (and her voice is nice).
I am new to the Hungarian language, but already am planning to have many more sessions with her! We spoke about culture, traditions (the Hungarian Easter tradition is so interesting), and cuisine. It's also possible to book a cooking lesson with Dora, and that will be something I hope to book soon - goulash is my favorite :). Thanks, Dora!
