Ciao! My name is Chiara, I'm a 27- year-old Italian and English teacher born and raised in the city of Salerno, near the beautiful Amalfi Coast, in the Southern part of Italy. I have always had a passion for foreign languages: as a student of English and Spanish first, and as a teacher now. My passion and curiosity led me to my BA in American Studies and my MA in Linguistics and Foreign Languages Education. I'm currently studying to become a specialized teacher for students with special education needs.Ich als Lehrkraft
Being a foreign languages student myself, I do know the struggles of learning a new language. My aim is to provide a relaxing and inclusive environment where everyone is more than welcome to challenge themselves and enjoy every bit of the process. Knowing three different languages definitely helps me with my students, expecially beginners, as I am able to understand the hardest aspects of learning the foreign languages that I teach and have a common language to compare Italian with, providing translations if necessary. My academic background in Foreign Languages Education is what drove me towards the development of my own personal teaching strategy.Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I like my lessons to be personalized, dynamic and interactive. I want my teaching environment to be natural and hopefully entertaining. I am a fan of the storytelling strategies and usually implement them in my lessons, providing stories about the Italian culture, traditions and society, as well as current affairs, through authentic materials, such as videos, podcasts, blogs and articles. I do that in order for my students not only develop linguistic competence, but also intercultural skills. I also use books and grammar exercises, when needed, expecially with beginners, to help them develop some basic communication skills (that I keep in mind all the time).Mein Unterrichtsmaterial
