🍀 Hello! I was born in Korea but migrated to Australia many years ago.
🍀 I am a certified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher in Sydney, Australia.
🍀 I’ve always had a deep curiosity for languages and I was fluent in Japanese passing the second level in the Japanese Ability test. I’ve also been learning Spanish for a while and I can speak it quite fluently!
🍀 I love languages, hiking, cooking, Latin dancing, playing tennis, science, animals, Kimchi making, kefir making, film & TV series, and exploring great restaurants to enjoy delicious international dishes.Ich als Lehrkraft
🌿 An ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher with a CELTA qualification.
🌿 Experience in teaching English to migrants to Australia.
🌿 Experience in teaching Korean as well as English to the native Spanish speakers during language exchanges for more than 4 years.
🌿 Experience in teaching Korean to Australians who are learning it through a Meetup group for around 15 years.
🌿 My students say I am patient, caring & encouraging as well as empathetic so my lessons give them a space where they feel comfortable with the language.

🎯 My lessons focus on speaking but I also help with vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening and writing depending on your language level, interests, motivation and preferred learning methods.
🎯 Language learning involves not only the language itself but also the culture, the food and much more so you will be introduced to histories, back stories or hidden facts about the language, the culture and the food.
🎯 A wide variety of lesson materials will be incorporated to maintain your engagement and motivation.
🎯 Homework will be provided to speed up your learning pace but it’s optional.

Genie made me feel really comfortable right from the start. She asked questions to get to know me and my interests. I am really glad that the materials she focused on are ones that I already have and already really enjoy. She made sure to tell me what I was doing well and really helped me to feel confident as a beginner. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!
