Hello everyone! :)
My name is Andrea, I'm a 30-year-old native speaker of Slovak and I'd love to be your English teacher! I myself have learnt English as a second language. I fell in love with the sound of it in primary school and later went on to university to do a degree in translation and interpreting. I also study Japanese which I'd like to add to my working languages one day. My hobbies are reading (I am a huge Harry Potter fan), languages (I study Japanese for about 2 hours every day), music (I play several musical instruments) and travelling. The furthest I've been so far is Japan and I LOVED it! I'd love to learn more about various cultures through teaching on italki! :)Ich als Lehrkraft
I taught English in a language school in Slovakia for about 7 years and I loved it, but eventually, I decided to teach students privately instead. I have experience with teaching various ages (2 to 60), levels (beginner to advanced) as well as different types of lessons (individual students, company courses, group courses). I'm also a speaking examiner for the Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE and YLE exams (young learners). Therefore, I know exactly what you need to pass the speaking parts of these exams with flying colours! :) I can also help you with grammar, since I've done English linguistics as part of my university studies, so if you're struggling with something, don't hesitate to ask! :)Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
In Slovakia, language lessons at state schools are often incredibly boring - students are repeatedly forced to memorise vocabulary and they never actually learn to speak the language. Having learnt English this way for about 12 years, I decided to do it differently! I think the best way to learn a language is through conversation, but I also understand that you can't always avoid stuff like grammar and vocabulary. Even then, why should it be boring?! In my lessons, I like giving students many examples of grammar/vocabulary usage they struggle with until they understand it. I also like giving my students hints and letting them figure out the meaning/grammatical rules for themselves.Mein Unterrichtsmaterial

This lesson was one of the best lessons I've ever had!! Andrea is so kind and patient! She's ready to answer any question. I felt like I was talking to a friend! Moreover, she is very competent, and her English is great! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to ace their exams!!!!

Good listener, good guider, all hearts in and every moment counts in each lesson. Good teachers are not majority but everywhere. But teacher good like Andrea, I only met two, this kind of responsibility and think all about the students, and the other one is my daughter’s science teacher. So lucky❤️
