Hi! I'm Roy, I grew up in China. Learning and teaching languages is my biggest passion, so now I want to help others learn too!
I'm currently studying languages and linguistics, and I've been learning English for almost 20 years, which has helped me learn how to explain the language well to other English speakers, and to better understand my own native language. I think learning a new language should be fun and most of all funny, so I teach primarily through conversations about what you’re interested in and want to talk about. I usually teach through relevant example sentences: expressions, jokes, stories, and questions. I know learning a new language can be very scary, so I try to make my classes fun, relaxing while at the same time effective. I personalise my lessons based on the students targets and needs.

I had a great first lesson with Roy. Roy is really friendly, patient and helpful. Plus we got to speak immediately in Chinese, which helps getting used to the language. But I could always use English as a helping tool so it’s too overwhelming. Great experience and I look forward to the next class! 😊
