Rafael Leite

When I first decided to take Portuguese lessons on italki as a beginner, I was nervous about focusing solely on the speaking aspect, afraid of saying things incorrectly and making mistakes. This journey has been a complete surprise for me - Rafa is a wonderful teacher, very patient, and friendly. Whereas I thought I might struggle to get through an hour, the class flies by each time as conversation is fun and engaging, and suddenly communication becomes the main focus. I love how the topics of focus are varied - between history, culture, music, and politics mixed in with learning the basics of conjugation, grammar, vocabulary and - my favorite - colloquialisms. :) Thank you for being awesome, Rafa.. até a próxima!

As aulas com Rafael são sempre ótimas. É difícil encontrar um assunto que ele não conhece, você pode se sentir totalmente confiante para falar sobre qualquer coisa, ele é um excelente professor e, acima de tudo, uma boa pessoa ,)

I’ve been taking Rafael’s classes for almost a year and I really enjoy them! It’s a great and relaxing way to practice conversation, which is what I really need the most. Rafael is encouraging, patient and friendly and I learn so many new words every class. His podcast is also great, and a wonderful companion tool to practice listening.

I talked about movies this time. i really like horror movies but i found out it is so difficult to tell in portuguese. this time he gave me some good tips to talk about movies. Thank you so much.
