Ola

Thanks a lot for everything today. It meant a lot to me to describe my plans when I get in Norwayin my text and I will keep working on vocabulary and so on. The motivation means a lot so tusen takk Ola, ha en god helg =) Vi snakkes!!!

My goal since January is to stay in touch with the Norwegian language despite the fact that my schedule does not allow me to study between our sessions. Ola has a lot of understanding for my situation and patiently listens to what I'm saying to him. Thank you so much for that. This is priceless...

Ola was very friendly, and flexible with the style of learning that I wanted to work with for learning Norwegian.

A promising first class; Ola is a perceptive teacher with clear diction and has good resources to deal with specific language problems. It's a little like visiting a psychologist or perhaps a dentist to separate out Swedish from Norwegian, but the class this morning was a great start! Takk så mye Ola, vi snakkes (saktende)!

Second lesson with Ola. I was a bit slow at catching on things for my own fault (I haven't been practicing much lately) but Ola never made it a problem. Somehow he talks in a way that even as an almost complete beginner allows me to understand most of what he says. I'm really enjoying his classes so far.

I started weekly classes with Ola in mid-October, and at that time, I had a huge language barrier with Norwegian. Fast-forward to now - end of January - and I can have hour-long conversations in Norwegian about a variety of topics! It’s a huge milestone for me. Ola has created a comfortable, supportive environment where I feel okay to be vulnerable and make mistakes without fear of seeming “stupid.” He’s fun, encouraging, authentic, and open to discussing so many different topics. Each class feels like a step forward, and he’s been right there with me—kind, humorous, and always motivating me to challenge myself and speak more. If you’re looking to improve your Norwegian through speaking, I can’t recommend Ola enough! He makes the journey enjoyable and effective. Baby steps add up, and with his guidance, I’ve made more progress than I expected.
