Hello! My name is Tony and I come from an African country called Cameroon. In Cameroon, we speak English and French just like in Canada. Therefore, English and French are my mother languages. I moved to Germany in October 2017 and within one and a half year, I learned German to C1 level (Advanced fluency) and started learning Chinese. Now I have B1 level (Intermediate fluency) in Chinese and am seeking to reach B2 level. I am also fluent in Spanish which I learnt during my internship in Colombia in summer 2022. My hobbies are, Learning languages, dancing, playing the guitar, playing tennis and reading self-development books. I also like travelling and getting to know new people.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I have four years of teaching language experience on Italki and other language learning platforms. I love teaching languages because I know how hard it can be, when you are really passionate about learning a language, but you don't get the adequate support you need. After learning German, I feel like I can be of great help to language learners especially those who are learning German. In the past year, I have gotten to know about some tricks and techniques that can speed up the language learning curve for anyone who is willing to use them. And all I want is to share them so that others can also achieve their goals like I did. Lastly, I can teach you using any of the five languages I speak.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
If my teaching style were a road, then it would be a two-way street. I am looking for students who are ready to rely on me to help them learn their target language but also are ready to put in the effort in their own free time to learn. For, if a student doesn't also put some effort in, then he or she cannot achieve high levels of fluency in any language. In my classes, I usually use Powerpoint slides for students who aren't advanced yet. For students who are more advanced, I have noticed that speaking helps a lot, so I generally have interesting conversations with such students. If a student is willing, I also give them homework that I will correct, so that they can improve even faster.
