Lucía

I can't recommend Lucía enough. In my trial lesson, she ensured that she understood exactly what I wanted to achieve and by when, and she gave me a realistic schedule of lessons I would need to achieve that. My lessons fluctuate between pure grammar lessons and pure conversation lessons. Lucía makes me work hard in grammar lessons, covering all the topics that I find difficult and explaining them in a way that is easy to understand. She is also very patient with me, guiding me where needed but also giving me space to figure things out myself. My conversation lessons are my favourite! We spend the entire lesson speaking in Spanish about whatever topic comes up. Lucía helps me with unknown vocab and grammar in these lessons and uses them to guide our grammar lessons as well. The vocab I have acquired is so much more useful than set lists or topics as our conversations flow naturally, so the vocab is more applicable for me. No need to look further for a teacher as Lucía is amazing!

I have taken Lucia's classes for over a year and she is always very professional. She encourages me to speak during the conversation part of the class by asking me open ended questions. She has taken the time to learn what vocabulary is relevant to my life and job. She is patient and supportive when I am struggling to think of the words. Lucia is very knowledgeable about grammar. She explains things clearly in English or in Spanish depending on how comfortable I am with the grammar terms. She put in a lot of thought and effort to make my learning journey successful. I will continue to take classes from her

Lucía is an amazing teacher! I came to her Spanish lessons as an absolute beginner and I really appreciate her structured approach to grammar. All of the nuances of the language are explained in lots of detail and Lucía always provides extra support with follow-up tasks/homework for me to practice. I have studied many languages in the past but studying with Lucía has been a truly exceptional experience and I am super happy with the speed of my progress in Spanish.

The more lessons I take with Lucía, the more positive things I have to say. Upon telling her how I struggled to use the subjunctive tense in conversation, she gave me a thorough yet simple explanation of the cases when the tense is and is not required, and also designed questions that pushed me to use the tense in conversation. Thanks to her I have the clearest understanding of the subjunctive tense that I have ever had since beginning to learn Spanish several years ago. ¡Es la mejor!

I cannot speak highly enough about Lucía. She has been helping me prepare for the C1 DELE exam for a few weeks now, and she is spectacular. She creates conversations with me that are not only engaging and fun, but also catered to the tenses which I told her I struggle with. If you are looking for a teacher that will help you reach your language goals in a comfortable, yet sufficiently challenging environment, I highly recommend Lucía.
