Bonjour !
I'm Theo, I was born in France and spent my childhood over there, I graduated in a bakery school and worked as a baker for 2 years.
Then I went travelling to India for 2 months then Australia for 2 years where I had various jobs and could reach a decent english level.
I'm currently living in Japan near Hiroshima where I joined my wife who was born there.
I believe we can learn from each other and therefore I enjoy talking to new people, especially when they are from a different country.
When words are used properly they carry such an immense power, they are worthy of being studied.
I have a strong passion for the Shakuhachi, a Japanese flute with a spiritual background.

I always loved searching for the best way to express myself and the French offer so many different ways to achieve this.
I started Italki without much confidence on my capacity to teach and without knowing if I would like it.
But things turned out well, I love it and since students come back, I think they are happy too.
I have now more than 2000 lessons given on Italki and this is my main experience as a community teacher, I am also helping my spouse with the french language every day.

I'll be your support in french oral practice while giving you tips and correction live.
I like to not spend too much time on rules and exceptions and approach the acquiring process in a natural way, I try to use what you already know as a step to reach your future knowledge.
I suggest you record our Skype conversations then you can listen to it again later.
Total Physical Response (T.P.R) is one of the method I use.
I think my strong point is being able to adapt my level to yours, depending on your ability, to find the right balance between effort and comfort.
I won't hesitate to correct you in a respectful manner.

I have certified C1 skills and yet Theo is always writing down corrections and better/more natural ways to say things. With him you’re always gonna improve your french no matter how advanced you get. Plus he finds conversation topics to prod you and the lesson along. Great tutor- he’s been with me since I was A2 :)

Il est très bon tutor en français! Je suis débutante mais son enseignement est facile à comprendre pour moi. il écrit une note pour ses étudiants toutes les leçon. et je peux en utiliser pour réviser après chaque leçon. Je hâte de vous voir en leçon à la prochaine fois aussi :)

I have taken more than 15 sessions with Theo already and am not planning to stop! Every session is super comfortable, and we always find a cool topic to discuss. I can feel my fluency improving :) Merci beaucoup!
