Jania Álvarez ✅​

I have had probably a dozen spanish teachers and Jania is definitely in the top two! She brings new material every lesson and we have back and forth discussions. My spanish has dramatically improved over the course of ten lessons!

I thoroughly enjoy my Spanish lessons with Jania. She always has great lessons, awesome suggestions and engaging conversation. My comfort and confidence with the language has skyrocketed.

Jania is an excellent teacher who I have progressed incredibly far with. When I first started with Jania, they created a plan to further my understanding with the goal of becoming conversationally fluent and passing a DELE B1 exam. Jania has excellent knowledge in exam preparation, but further than this a lovely collaborative teaching style which has allowed us to adjust our lessons and plan as I have progressed in my Spanish journey. For me, what sets Jania apart from other tutors I’ve had in the past is excellent communication, facilitating a supportive open environment with permission to be curious – if I don’t understand something, I can ask and Jania will explain in another way. Further, Jania has a great understanding of nuance within a language and has been incredibly helpful in developing my sense of tone within Spanish – for instance, the difference between “El ha muerto” (He has died) vs “El se ha fallecido” (He has passed away). I look forward to my lessons each week.

There are many great teachers on Italki but Jania stands out. I recommend her for anyone serious about improving their Spanish. So helpful and caring. I have taken over 40 lessons and I have never been disappointed.
