Hello everyone. I'm Tom from Japan. I'm a Japanese native speaker and I would like to help you improve your Japanese. I look forward to meeting new students and speaking Japanese together in a relaxed way.

Prior to my teaching career, I have more than 15 year working experience in IT and educational institutions. I also have a managerial experience in business, so I can share how to use Business Japanese in various situations with you. I have taught students from different countries for more than 3,000 lessons on italki as well as one-on-one lessons for business persons working in Japan. I ask students to try their Japanese as much as possible to check what they can do and can't. If necessary, I will explain meanings or grammar points in English.

For many learners, lesson time they have with tutors is limited. I hope that they will monitor what they were able to do and what you were not able to do from lessons, then apply their takeaways to the outside of their lessons. As an instructor, I not only teach, but also want to be a coach to help you reach their goals as quickly as possible. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. It's part of learning. Let's enjoy the process!!

Tom Sensei is one of the best Japanese teachers I’ve had ☺️☺️! He is very calm, insightful, and disciplined. If I’m ever confused or if I make an error, he doesn’t make me feel dumb, and he explains whatever I’m confused about for as long as necessary for me to comprehend it clearly. Whatever goals or ambitions you have, he always makes that his top priority and does his best to fulfill it ☺️. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better sensei, he is absolutely amazing 🤩🤩🤩!!
