Hello! I’m Asako. I've been teaching Japanese at US universities over 4 years! My hometown has beautiful beaches or an American navy base. After I graduated from my university, I worked in NY fashion industry for 6 years. This year I graduated a grad school with a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. My hobby is playing the piano and traveling all over the world! I'm super excited to talk to you from all over the world!
Ich als Lehrkraft
I love interacting with people and teaching something new to people so much! When I was a university student, I was working at a prep school. Also, I have experienced working at an English school. After I completed a summer course in Japanese pedagogy at an university in St.Louis in 2019, I taught Japanese at a university in Maine while studying linguistics for 2 years. Currently I’ve been teaching Japanese at a university in Texas!

I'm teaching Japanese focusing on useful daily conversation. I will introduce a lot of useful phrases, grammar and vocabulary while having a conversation. If you want to practice hiragana and katakana, I’m happy to help you! You are welcome to request such content for lessons. It’s up to you! (I've been using GENKI to teach undergraduate students for 3 years, so please let me know if you want to use it!) *I only accept students above the age of 16. Thank you.
Asako-Sensei is truly the best teacher I have taken lessons from.
She is kind, patient, has a ton of conversation subjects she draws from, and adapts her topics and level of speech to my level.
By taking regular sessions in the past months, she has tremendously helped me with my spoken japanese, corrected my daily journals, and she has helped me build the confidence to speak more.
Thank you so much Asako-Sensei <3

Today was the first lesson with Asako-san and I enjoyed it very much.
As I am aiming to improve my speaking skills, Asako-san is a great suit for me. Asako-san is very patient and supportive. During the lesson she kept me talking which I liked a lot. Also her Japanese was easy to understand (I am about Genki 2 level). Asako-san typed down all the used vocabulary in the chat, so that I can revise it afterwards.
I definitely recommend Asako-san's lessons. I am looking forward to the next one :) ありがとうございます!

Asako Sensei is very knowledgable and experienced with the process of learning and teaching foreign language. I think that is what makes her a very good teacher, she can relate to the student's situation. She is very amenable to structuring the session based on the student's needs and Japanese level. I have found her very helpful in teaching me more intermediate to advanced level vocabulary and Japanese expressions. This has been perfect for my language development and is different than you might find in a textbook or a standard Japanese class. She is highly educated and intelligent which is important for discussing a wide variety of topics.
