Über mich
italki-Lehrkraft seit 4. Jun 2020
My name is Ahmed Deiab, from Egypt. Arabic is my native language, I also speak fluent English and I am TEFL certified. I'm a language enthusiast, currently learning German. For several years, I worked as an accountant at a multinational insurance company before eventually leaving to pursue my passion for cinema and language teaching. I have taught African refugees English and Arabic classes at the Center for Arab-West Understanding Learning Center, an Egypt-based learning Center for disadvantaged children. I also write short stories in Arabic, some of which have been published. My plan for the future is to travel to Vietnam to teach English and make travel videos =)
Ich als Lehrkraft
I understand how difficult and frustrating it may be for someone who learns a new language such as Arabic, therefore, my goal is to make the lesson as easy and simple as possible. I will do my best to make the learning process enjoyable and useful in order to maintain your enthusiasm, and for you to reap the fruits of your efforts quickly. I will create a friendly learning environment, encourage you to speak from the first day without pressure and together we will develop a plan that suits you and meets your needs.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I like a conversation-based class because I want you to be able to confidently use what you've learned. I will encourage you from day one to start using Arabic during our classes, without feeling any pressure. We will focus on speaking, but we will also work on grammar, keeping in mind your personal goals and needs. As for learning material, I could provide you with my own material, or we could use any other type of material you prefer. Between your sessions, I will provide you with unlimited support, you can always count on me to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to get in touch with me before classes to tell me about your needs and expectations.
Ahmed is the only language teacher you will ever need. He is passionate, polite, competent, well rounded, and extraordinarily gifted as a teacher.
I started learning Egyptian Arabic from him in August. Now, we are starting to have more complex conversations on current events and deeper topics. He is a human encyclopedia and brilliant translator and interpreter. He is capable of translating even the most unusual of metaphors and concepts.
Ahmed has proven much more organized and dedicated than my professors in college. From utilizing a custom worksheet to coherently demonstrating proper conjugation to recommending books for practice both in and out of class, to watching travel videos in Egyptian Arabic on YouTube, Ahmed has developed an unique ability to adapt to each student an effect curriculum.
I have two friends I have referred to Ahmed that are now taking classes and a potential third in the works. He is an outstanding teacher and I look forward to every lesson!

Another magnificent lesson with Ahmed! Ahmed was destined to teach. There are not enough superlatives to describe him and his teaching method. I am so thrilled to be studying with him because I learn so much during our class (vocabulary, grammar, idioms, etc.) Thank you, Ahmed, for your dedication, creativity and passion towards your work, and thanks for the extra time today!

Ahmed is solid. He holds a fantastic conversation on virtually any topic you want to talk about and is able to help IMMEDIATELY with hard to translate sentences. Another plus is is English language capability is near that of a native born English speaker.

I never met a teacher who motivates and encourages as much as Ahmed does!
I found myself rushing to finish daily chores to save more time for Arabic each day in the evening.
Thanks to conversation-based approach during lessons, I started talking to my Egyptian colleagues after just a month of learning.
Now, after 8 months, I can maintain basic conversation and partly understand when they talk to each other.
So happy and so motivated to learn more!

Life got busy and I couldn’t have lessons for a few weeks! Surprisingly, I had still retained most of my vocabulary! Ya Ahmed, you are a true tutor. Alf-shuk!
