Hola! I'm Julieta and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am an advanced literature student at Universidad de Buenos Aires.
I have over seven years of experience teaching spanish as a second language. I worked at a spanish school for two years, teaching large groups as well as one on one lessons. I also worked at a well-known multinational, where my classes were oriented towards a business approach.
I have also had the challenging and great opportunity to teach children between 3 and 12 years old.

Given my literature education, I have a great understanding of Spanish grammar, but I also have experience in editing texts and proofreading.
As a teacher, I try to create a relaxed class atmosphere because the students should feel comfortable enough to speak and ask questions without feeling self-conscious. I know how hard learning a new language can be, and that is why I always try to empathize with each individual student, learning about their needs and interests, in order to make the most out of the classes.

My classes are intended for all kinds of audiences. During the first class, I'll have a conversation with the student in order to determine the best approach to follow. I think grammar is very important when learning a language, but so is conversation and culture. I love recommending movies, books, and music to my students, as I believe they are great tools to improve vocabulary and speaking skills.
I prepare my own class materials, which include grammar, listening, writing, and translation exercises. Once I get to know my students, I create new materials specially tailored to their needs.

I've had a couple of lessons with Julieta, and she is a great teacher. She provides very good feedback in a way that feels encouraging and not overwhelming. Most importantly, she seems to really care about teaching. I actually feel confident that I'm going to be able to start communicating in Spanish vs. just doing Duolingo every day! ;)

Julieta is a fantastic teacher. She is kind, patient and fun to learn with. She explains everything thoroughly and asks follow-up questions to ensure that I am grasping the content. I have already gained a deeper understanding of the Spanish language after only a few lessons with Julieta. I highly recommend her!
