Hello! I’m Yukari. I’m a qualified Japanese teacher.
I grew up in Tokyo and Yokohama. I speak standard Japanese.
I started my professional life as an editor in a publishing company and wrote a book as a ghostwriter. Since I moved to France where I live now, I have worked in marketing. My interests in language, communication and interacting with other people from all over the world led me to become a teacher.
I have a curious mind. The fields that interest me include but are not limited to science, art and architecture. Outside of teaching, my life is filled with yoga practice, playing the piano and swimming. When I go on holiday, I like embracing nature by hiking, sea swimming or skiing.Ich als Lehrkraft
Creativity and curiosity. I draw not only on my knowledge of Japanese as a teacher but also on the communication skills that I gained through my professional work to harness students' curiosity. I do my best to make my lessons engaging and set up a relaxed environment so that my students can speak freely.

My lessons are tailored to meet each student’s objectives, learning style and interests. I teach adults (aged 16 and over) of all levels.
I regret to inform you that I am currently unable to provide lessons for travel-related purposes.

Another amazing lesson with Yukari-sensei. We covered N1 expressions often used in conversation that I was struggling with. She patiently explained the nuance of each, providing examples, correcting my own attempts at using them, and making the whole process fun and engaging. I can't recommend Yukari-sensei enough. 大切な説明ありがとうございます！

Yukari-san is a wonderful teacher and I heartily recommend her to anyone looking to learn Japanese. She is patient, knowledgeable, and has a natural ability to make even complex topics approachable and enjoyable. Every lesson with her is not only educational and inspiring but also fun :)

Thank you, Yukari sensei, very much for the trial lesson. Throughout the lesson, we got to know each other by discussing our language background and interests. I am grateful for Yukari sensei's patience and guidance, as well as her instant feedback on grammar in our dialogue. I look forward to our next lessons.

I had a wonderful trial lesson with Yukari Sensei. Since it was my first time ever using italki I felt quite nervous but Yukari Sensei was super nice and let me feel very welcome. She took the time to really find out what my goals are and gave me several options on how to proceed with my learning goals. Highly recommended!
