My name is Fred Kuhr 🏳️🌈, and I'm a dual U.S./Canada citizen 🇨🇦🇺🇸originally from New York City 🌉, now living in Toronto, Canada. I'm a former high school English teacher as well as an award-winning actor and filmmaker. My interests include current events, pop culture, movies, music and physical fitness. In fact, I'm a certified personal trainer and have been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years.Ich als Lehrkraft
As a former high school English teacher, I know that you have to meet students where they are and use materials that interest them in order to reach them. I also know that different students learn differently; that is, some respond better to listening while others are better with seeing information. My teaching style is upbeat and energetic, injected with humor. I know that if I'm bored, the student will be too. So I can't be boring. Language learning should be fun anyway, since learning a language also unlocks a new culture. I like to use materials that are already out there in the culture - whether that's children's books, magazines, newspapers, movies or music - to showcase culture along with language.
