Hi! I am an active person with many interests. I enjoy studying languages. I have formally studied Italian, Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish, Nepali, and Polish. The language-learning experience enables me to understand the language learner's journey. In addition, I enjoy staying physically active. I like to ski in the winter and bicycle in the summer. I often travel to do these activities and speak the country's language where I visit. I am also a musician. I studied music at the university and still play the flute. (I used to play bass guitar in a blues, jazz, and rock-n-roll band too!) I also love to dance Argentine tango. I have traveled throughout Asia, Europe, and northern Africa too!Ich als Lehrkraft
I am a certified TEFL teacher. I have taught primary, middle, and secondary students and adults. I believe all students can learn a new language. It can be difficult, I know! I struggle with Polish currently! I will assess your reading, writing, speaking, and listening levels. I will understand your goals. Then, I can plan and offer meaningful lessons to help the student reach those goals based on the student's level. And, I maintain a written record of student work on the Italki platform. It provides a scope and sequence of material that promotes advancement in every lesson. I use active learning strategies based on teaching Foreign Language Learner (TEFL) theory to create engaging and interactive lessons that improve students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
I use many different materials, including but not limited to fiction, non-fiction, articles, podcasts, worksheets, art, and music. Of course, I also use games in teaching! I provide vocabulary lists for reading and listening exercises. I provide links to podcasts that align with your level and goals.

Learning with Emmi is really enjoyable! She’s super patient and active. The lesson was well prepared and targeted to the specific area that I would like to improve (business English in my case). The presentation practice we did is absolutely enlightening for me. Definitely would like to continue learning with her!

Emi is the best teacher that i have had. she is empatic and study english with her is easy and funny. The time goes fast and you learn without any stress. She focus in a specific topic and let us talk but in the end she correct each mistake with text and pronunciation.
i think if i would have Emmi with me for about one week i will become a perfect english speaker.
