Deisy Mejía 🌼

Deisy has exposed me to many interesting and useful facets of Spanish language since I started taking lessons with her a few years ago. I can speak the language now with more confidence and am easily understood by native speakers in many Latin American countries that I had pleasure to visit. Deisy’s teaching methods not only expose me to the beauty of this language but also the wonderful people and culture around her part of the world. I’m very fortunate to have found Deisy on Italki.

Today's lesson was very encouraging for me as we went over the homework assignments. I struggled with my pronunciation homework but I am so thankful that Deisy is so so patient with me as we work through the exercises! Learning Spanish is a journey, and I am thankful to have found a tutor who reminds me to slow down and be okay with making mistakes in the beginning. As I continue to practice, I will become a better speaker. Thank you so much Deisy! :)

Second lesson with Deisy was fun! To be able to laugh while learning new sounds and words and not feel embarrassed is a sign of a great tutor. I felt so silly at times when I made a mistake but Deisy made it so easy to laugh and smile through it. I'm so motivated to practice and improve. I look forward to our next lesson in pronunciation!
