Hei vaan!
My name is Maureen, and I’m excited to help you learn Finnish. I grew up in Tampere, Finland, but now live in the U.S. I’m a native Finnish and English speaker and also fluent in Spanish. I’ve studied German, Swahili, Swedish, Latin, Italian, Portuguese, and ASL.
I’ve lived on three continents, including many years in Mexico, which has deepened my passion for cultures and languages. As a child of immigrants and after moving to two new countries, I understand the challenges of settling in a new place. My experiences give me empathy for those navigating new languages and cultures.
