Aurélie Coelho

Aurelie is a teacher I feel so comfortable with! She came prepared with a lesson that spoke exactly to the goals I had: improving my pronunciation. She made the lesson fun and practical by reading a newspaper article about the day in the life of a French woman. When she corrects my pronunciation, she is so encouraging, I feel hopeful and like I will learn rather than my norm of being discouraged and ashamed. She is such a positive teacher and inspirational teacher.

Aurélia made me feel so comfortable in the first 30 seconds, I didn’t even try to revert to English. It was my first lesson where I wasn’t too embarrassed to try French. We spent even this initial lesson speaking entirely in French and she filled in with words I didn’t know. And she spoke slowly so i could understand her, too. Instant report, instant sense of caring and calm and patience. Aurélia just made learning French fast seem possible and provided such a thoughtful, caring first lesson in a conversational tone. I highly recommend her!

Ms. Aurélie is a wonderful professor. She is very patient, engaging, and knowledgeable. I am a rather shy person, but I feel comfortable and encouraged to speak French during each class. I feel that I have progressed a lot, especially regarding speaking and comprehension, since taking classes with her.
