Hey there! My name is Femke, nice to meet you :) Born and raised in the area of Amsterdam and having moved around the Netherlands, I’ve experienced life in the active big cities of the country, as well as it’s calm, tiny villages. Three years ago I took a leap and moved to Portugal, because I absolutely fell in love with the country. Now, I’m living in Porto and I’m more excited than ever to share my passion for teaching. I offer a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQI+ / queer and neurodivergent students 🌈 Whether you want to learn Dutch because you're moving to the Netherlands, or just for fun, I’d love to support you on your Dutch-learning journey! Ich als Lehrkraft

Languages have always fascinated me! Besides Dutch, I am fluent in English, speak Portuguese B2 level, and speak a little Spanish. Since I’ve gone through the language-learning journey myself, I know what works (and what doesn’t). I love helping people gain confidence in speaking Dutch, and forming a connection with my students. I believe learning should be fun, meaningful, and adapted to each student’s needs. Everyone learns differently, so I personalize my lessons to make sure they fit your learning style. My goal is to create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment where you can learn at your own pace and gradually improve with confidence :)

My lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging. We can focus on conversation, reading, listening, music, or a mix—whatever suits you best! If you already know what works for you, great! If not, let's figure it out together. I also love incorporating topics that interest you, so learning Dutch feels natural and enjoyable.
