Hallo zusammen! I'm a writer, public lecturer and teacher vastly engaged in making art and culture accessible - and that is understandable - for everyone. Since my studies (BA & MA) in Germany, Egypt and India, I have been working in various community-based projects in Europe (e.g with refugees) in which I could bring this vision forward. Overall, I'm interested in the question how different languages shape a different way of thinking, which I have encountered while learning different languages such as Latin, Greek, Arabic, Japanese and English.
Ich als Lehrkraft
As a teacher I apt for mutual respect, always trying to foster my students' skills instead of being too insistent on their weaknesses. Depending on the respective level of my students, I give them different - often more creative - tasks in order for them to become familiar with difficult demands such as German grammar in a more playful way.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
In my teaching I apply creative and alternative teaching methods (flipped classroom, project & community based learning) and I find it particularly important to maintain a horizontal attitude towards my students. Instead of maintaining my authority, I tend to see my students as participants in a mutual effort of learning. I understand a teaching lesson as a collective experience rather than a lecture that is delivered only by the teacher. I always try to spark my students' interest by using different media in order to engage them with apparently less appealing topics such as German literature (Goethe, Kafka, Kleist etc.) and philosophy (Hegel, Nietzsche, Marx etc.).
