During this trial lesson I will do a thorough needs assessment as well as a level assessment and we will formulate a learning plan together. It is an opportunity for you to see some of the materials I use and and for us to get to know each other a little.

Do you need to be more fluent and to improve your pronunciation in English? I can help you to improve your fluency and pronunciation with these conversation focussed classes. Do you get tongue-tied with the conditionals or past tenses? Do you need to review the modal verbs and their meanings and use? 

We can focus the classes on pronunciation, fluency or accuracy, brush up on a grammar point or do a bit of everything and I can give you materials to study at home with extra vocabulary or grammar points, such as articles, videos or worksheets. That really depends on whether you have time for homework or not.

We will tailor the topic of conversation and the pace and speed to your needs and focus on the ares you need to improve. So if you need to improve your grammar or pronunciation, we will focus on that or if it's expanding your vocabulary in an area, we can focus on that.

In my youth and young adulthood I was an actor. I performed in many theatrical plays and did a lot of online filming too. It's through those experiences that I learned and practiced how to be a clear speaker and I'd love to share my tips and tricks on how to speak clear, proper English.

What's more is that I can coach you on different accents from around the English speaking world, from British English (my mother tongue), American, Canadian to Australian just to name the main dialects.

We'll use several of my presentations and other online materials to improve your enunciation, pronunciation, articulation and overall mastery of spoken English.

What's more is that I have been doing this for quite some time now and so people from Brazil, Spain, Italy, Arabic Speaking Nations, Asian Nations and Slavic Nations all have their own unique way of speaking the language. I have identified the key sounds that each of you make and can help you gradually coach you to reduce your accent and generally improve in your target accent.

In these lessons we will work on improving your English from absolute beginner level to intermediate. 

If this is your first ever English lesson, you are in the right place. 

I will help give you the tools necessary to understand the language. 

I will be there to support you to start using what you learn immediately. 

I'm originally from London, one of the most multicultural cities in the world, as a result I've got more friends who's native langue is not English than I do English speaking friends!
 This gives me unique insight as to how to communicate with people who don't speak much, or any English.

Lessons will be "full language immersion" with the option of Google Translate if you get a little stuck. 

We will practice speaking slow, clear English which will allow you to get used to the sounds and rhythm of English. 

My visual presentations will help you understand the words, ideas and concepts that we are talking about.  The content material is basic and easy to understand.

I know what it is like to learn a new language in adulthood so, I am very patient and never judgmental. 

It's my goal as a teacher to help you feel comfortable and confident when speaking English and my years of experience teaching thousands of students will ensure that.

I've been teaching on Italki for a while now and a compliment that I often get from a lot of my students is the fact that I am a very good listener. They say that I am very good at listening to their problems and offering helpful and meaningful advice. 

I am not a licensed Therapist but in the past, I have been a youth worker (teen counseller), child safe-guarder (for schools and centres) and an advocate for at-risk individuals such as those with a mental or physical disability and/or autism (within private hospitals)

What's more is that I've met thousands of people, heard their stories and helped improve their lives for the better. 

From depression to anxiety and even suicidal tendencies, I've supported people emotionally in improving their overall outlook on life and given them confidence to deal with the day to day difficulties they face. 

In our sessions we can talk about your worries, concerns and problems in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.

Sometimes people just want to get things off their chest and express how they are feeling. 
It can be difficult at times to do that with friends or family so I'd like to offer my time and my ear to help you deal with what is affecting you most. A problem shared is a problem halved. Talking about things can help you better understand them in your head. 

Maybe you need a different perspective on a matter to help you see where you can divert your feelings and energy. Perhaps you need someone to tell you that everything is going to be alright!

Preparing for a test can be challenging and beside English comprehension, time management can be another problem. Here is what I can do for you:

📌 I’ll help you identify your mistakes and weaknesses and work on them. We can work on any part of the test (speaking, reading, listening or writing) but I would suggest to work first on the part that is the most difficult for you.

📌 We’ll work with test material so you can get familiar with the type of questions you’ll have to deal with during your exam. However, I don’t exclude using other material to work on a few particular skills (giving an opinion, using fillers and linking words, reading / listening for gist or details, and so on).

📌 I’ll make sure to give you a strategy that’ll help you manage your time and find an optimum way to prepare before answering a question (for the speaking part).

As a PhD student, I was in charge of managing a project that dealt with the regulation of antimicrobial defenses during inflammatory lung diseases.

Even though I was not teaching English, my professional experience in an English speaking Canadian province was a highly immersive experience that helped me improve my (already decent) English level up to a near native level. Moreover I had to supervise students, so I had to be attentive to their needs and address their inquiries to the best of my abilities.

My research topic consisted in exploring the mechanisms by which proteolytic enzymes can inactivate antimicrobial defenses during lung inflammation. 
I had to deal with a lot of scientific English and also had the occasion to collaborate with other English speakers, students and professionals alike.

I will set you a writing task before the session, then you can send it to me and I will read through it and highlight any corrections or suggestions.
