WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE? 

Dedicated, desperate, highly motivated students who MUST quickly improve their English for work, school, or an exam.

For highly motived students who have to improve quickly. Intense, but fun! :D Equivalent to 1 year of English study in a university (20 lessons for 10 weeks)
To choose this option, purchase 1 or 2 packages of 10, 1 HOUR lessons. 

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:

•	A document summarizing the scientific research into effective language learning methods. I will go over it with you so that you will know exactly what to do to improve as quickly as possible. 
•	Homework assignments based on scientific research. 🔬 
•	Speaking/listening practice (description, free talk, topic based, work based, etc..), pronunciation practice, vocabulary growth, corrections. 
•	A Google Doc which includes new vocab, corrections, recommendations, & more. 
•	Spoken grammar practice (without the memorization of grammar rules or exercises). 

COMMITMENT REQUIRED

90-minutes/day, 5 days/week, for 10 weeks, including 2 hours of conversation classes a week with me. 

THREE MAJOR COMPONENTS

1. Conversation classes on Skype
You will have 2, 1-hour conversation classes a week with me. 

2. Daily homework outside of class
Three days a week you will do 90 minutes of homework. The other two days, when you have classes with me, you will do 30 minutes of reading homework.

3. Homework report
At the beginning of each class, you will tell me about your homework to make sure you are us

Reading for pleasure is the fastest way to improve your English!

I will evaluate your English level and help you select an interesting book or article to read together in class. :D

IMPROVE YOUR PRONUNCIATION: We will take turns reading out loud so you can listen to and practice correct English pronunciation. Pronunciation is extremely important!

INCREASE YOUR VOCABULARY RAPIDLY: I will explain the meaning of new vocabulary words, so we can read without long pauses to look up the words in a dictionary. You will learn new words much more quickly than by other methods because you are learning in the context of a story and because you will see the words repeated. Language research says you will learn new vocabulary 10 to 20 times faster by reading, than by using traditional methods.

IMPROVE YOUR GRAMMAR: The science of language learning tells us the best way to improve English grammar is to read extensively. As you do, your brain will unconsciously absorb grammar. This is much MORE FUN AND EFFECTIVE than studying grammar in textbooks!

GAIN CONVERSATIONAL CONFIDENCE: We will talk about what we read which can reduce the pressure of trying to figure out what to discuss. ;)

There are 3 options for this lesson: 

1. General Business English. I will help you improve your business vocabulary and conversation skills to help you be prepared and feel confident at work. We will learn common phrasal verbs and expressions that are often used in the business world. 

2. Interview Practice. I will ask you many common interview questions and give you helpful feedback. I will also share my "keys to having a successful interview." It's not just about good English. You need to think about style, speed, tone, etc.. I've helped a lot of students improve their interview skills which led to job offers! 

3. Preparation for presentations, projects etc.. If you're nervous about a presentation you need to give, then this course is for you! I will help you practice giving your presentation in a confident, clear way, using proper vocabulary.

Who should choose this lesson? 

Students who want homework and some extra structure during the classes but don't want to use a textbook. 

Before getting a package, please schedule a single lesson so we can see if we're a good fit. It's very important that we share the same learning/teaching preferences and feel comfortable with each other to get the most out of our lessons. :)

Talking with me will feel like talking with a friend. =P I will correct your mistakes and we will learn new words and expressions together!

I'll share a Google Doc where we will put the new vocabulary. Then we can REVIEW it in future classes and practice using it.

There are several types of conversations we can have:

1. We will talk freely and I will teach you commonly used expressions and phrasal verbs. 

2. We can use a list of questions about topics such as: Life, Science, Psychology, Business, and Travel, among many others.

3. We can speaking exercises. For example, I will have you describe a picture, book, movie, past experience, your work, etc.

120 hour credit. I also took a 10 hour module on teaching one to one for a total of 130 hours

I attended MBI for one semester where I studied the Bible. After that I moved to Costa Rica and did an internship with an international church.

I grew up with a father who was a brilliant counselor. He started teaching me about emotional intelligence when I was 9 years old. The older I became, the more he taught me about psychology and counseling. He oversaw and guided my work when I got my first clients as an adult.

I was responsible for all of the activity on the driveway in front of a hotel. I would greet guests, call taxis, handle the occasional problem and manage those under my supervision.

I've worked in 4 different hostels as an attendant. 1 was in Portugal, 1 in Chile, & 2 in Panama. I was responsible for checking people in, accepting payment, answering the phone, giving directions, etc... These experiences helped me to greatly improve my Spanish and Portuguese skills. It was a wonderful experience!

I had to approach strangers and talk about the gym. My mentor has a lot of experience in sales and taught me a lot about it.
