In this lesson you can experience what a real lesson with me is like. I can assess your level and your needs, help you make a study plan for future lessons and also get to know each other.
Usually we will start with some conversation and get familiar with each other, then we we do some vocabulary or grammar exercises. After this we will discuss what you need and how you can achieve your goals.

These lessons are for people that want to get a very high IELTS score (7.5 - 9). We will follow a tailor-made plan that is unique for you in order to help you get the best IELTS score you possibly can. The lessons focus on all 4 sections of the test. During the lesson we will do some activities aimed at improving your score and understanding your mistakes. I give lots of homework and practice papers for you to further improve during your free time.

IELTS - Advanced

My Book Club lessons are perfect for students who really want to push their English to the next level! The lessons are based around a popular best selling book (please see the available books below) which we will read together over a course of several weeks, using it as a tool to improve and boost your English skill across all 4 skills - reading, speaking, writing and listening.  

The course includes speaking practice in our live lessons, writing tasks aimed at improving your vocabulary, grammar and writing skill and lots of extra materials for you to watch and learn from. 

You will be asked to read a few chapters of the book BEFORE each lesson. Then during our lesson we will discuss the points raised in those chapters. Each lesson comes with useful vocabulary to focus on before the lesson, discussion questions to guide our debates and conversation and a follow-up writing task for homework. 

The Book Club course is designed to take between 6 - 8 lessons (depending on the book) but we can go at a speed which is comfortable for you, making the course longer or shorter depending on your specific needs.

In this course you will watch 4 short documentaries (around 20 - 40 minutes each) on 4 different topics. You will watch the documentary BEFORE the lesson.

While watching the documentary, you will have some optional homework tasks to complete that will help you to understand the main idea and learn new vocabulary.

Documentary Club: Advanced C1 Level

Are you tired of talking about the weather, your hobbies and other mundane topics? Do you need a place to really express your views and opinions on more intellectual topics? Then, this class is for you! 

In these lessons we will discuss everything from architecture to philosophy and the environment to conspiracy theories. We will have discussions, hold debates, and work together to solve problems. 

Each lesson will be based around a different topic but here are some previous EXAMPLES:

In this course we will read the international bestseller  'The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fu*k'  by Mark Manson. We will read the book over 5 lessons. We will discuss the issues and ideas raised in the book.

This course is perfect for anyone who is looking for a new and exciting way to learn English while learning about exactly what it means to not give a fu*k! The course is also great for university students and people who are preparing for English exams (such as IELTS). The book is suitable for anyone with C1 - C2 (advanced) level of English.
