毎日放課後はトレーニングで6～10km（キロメートル）走り、土日も部活動に励（はげ）んでいた。足の爪（つめ）がよく内出血（ない　しゅっけつ）していたほどだ。いつも部活が終わるのは18時ごろで毎日ヘトヘトだったが、帰宅途中に友達とコロッケを買い食（ぐ）いするのが至福（しふく）のひと時だった。
